Delete account
Delete your account
You can delete your Sayable account and everything that belongs to it, at any time. The account is the same in the apps for Android, iPhone, Mac and Windows, in the browser extension and on the web, so if you delete it in one place, it is gone everywhere. Deletion cannot be undone. Sayable is made by A-JOB AS.

In short: Tap Delete account under Account in the Sayable app on Android or iPhone, delete it under Settings in the Mac or Windows app (Innstillinger on Windows), or send us an email. If you delete in the app, the account and everything on it is gone at once. An App Store or Google Play subscription does not stop because of it: you cancel it where you bought it. We only keep receipts for what you have paid, for as long as accounting rules require.
In the app
- Open the Sayable app on your Android phone or iPhone, and sign in with the account you want to delete.
- Go to the Account tab and tap the card at the top with your email address. This opens Account and subscription.
- Scroll all the way down and tap Delete account.
- Confirm with Delete everything forever.
In the Mac and Windows apps. The Windows app is in Norwegian, so its words are given in brackets:
- Open Sayable on your Mac or PC, and sign in with the account you want to delete.
- Go to Settings › Account (Innstillinger › Konto), and scroll down to Account actions (Kontohandlinger).
- Type your email address in the field, and click Delete account forever (Slett kontoen for alltid).
The account and everything that belongs to it is deleted at once, and you are signed out on all devices. A subscription you bought in the App Store does not stop, and Apple keeps charging for it until you cancel it there: in Settings on your iPhone, under your name and Subscriptions. If you have such a subscription, the iPhone app tells you before you delete, with a button, Manage subscription, that opens your subscriptions. The same applies to a subscription in Google Play: Google keeps charging for it until you cancel it in Google Play, under the profile icon, Payments & subscriptions and Subscriptions. If you have such a subscription, the Android app tells you before you delete, with Manage subscription and Delete the account anyway.
Without the app, by email
If you only use Sayable in the browser or on the web, or you do not have your phone or computer at hand, you can ask us to delete the account. Send an email to hei@sayable.no from the address you sign in with, and write that you want to delete your Sayable account. We delete it within 30 days and reply when it is done. If the email comes from a different address, we will first ask you to confirm that the account is yours.
If you are in a team
If you own a team with other members, you must first hand ownership to someone else in the team, or close the team. You do this on the team page in Sayable on the web, app.sayable.no. If you are alone in the team, it is closed together with the account, and the team subscription stops. If you are a regular member, you leave the team, and the meetings you have shared with it are removed from the team archive.
What is deleted
- Your account and your email address.
- All your meetings in the cloud: recordings, transcripts, summaries and the names you have given the speakers.
- Notes, tasks, the words in your dictionary and text you have dictated to your Mac.
- Share links, and meetings you have shared with a team.
- Feedback you have sent, and error and crash reports from the apps, the browser extension and Sayable on the web.
- Everything else we have stored about your account, for example the minutes and storage you have used, which apps you have used Sayable from, and the names of your devices.
- Your customer record with the payment service Stripe. An active subscription on the web stops at once.
- What we have registered about purchases in the App Store and Google Play, and the notifications Apple and Google have sent us about them. The subscription itself in the App Store or Google Play does not stop: you have to cancel it where you bought it.
What is kept
- Receipts for what you have paid: the amount, the date and the email address on the payment. Norwegian accounting rules require us to keep them for five years after the end of the financial year. They are kept in our accounts and with Stripe, and are not used for anything else. For purchases in the App Store and Google Play, Apple and Google have the receipt. If you have never paid, there are none.
- Refunded purchases in the App Store and Google Play: Apple's ID for the purchase or the purchase tokens from Google Play, and when the refund became known, with no link to you or the account, so a refunded purchase cannot be used again on a new account.
- Email: what you have written to us, and the automatic notices we receive about your account, for example when it is created or deleted, stay in our mailbox. Ask, and we will delete them too, unless accounting rules require us to keep them.
- A marker that the account has been deleted: a code calculated from the account's random ID, and when the account was deleted. The marker contains neither your email address nor anything else about you. It exists only so that your apps on other devices learn that the account has been deleted, and it is deleted automatically after 31 days.
On your devices
If you delete the account on a Mac or Windows PC, or from another device, nothing on the device is deleted. It stays there without an account: meetings, recordings, notes, templates and the dictionary, and on the computer also the dictation history and snippets. On a Mac or Windows PC, the copies of your cloud meetings become local meetings. If you sign in with a new account, you can bring it into that account. If you delete the account on your phone, the account's meetings, local meetings, recordings, notes and dictionary are deleted there. Anything that belongs to another account on the phone, and anything stored there without an account, stays. A rescue copy Sayable has made of a file it could not read may also stay, for example of the meetings. The account's templates are deleted, along with their rescue copies.
